Singer Kimbra first made a name for herself—and got the world to notice—when she appeared as the dulcet guest vocalist on Gotye’s wildly successful “Somebody That I Used To Know,” which has 350 million YouTube views and counting, plus two Grammy nominations! Since then, she’s embarked on her own, releasing the album Vows in her native New Zealand in August 2011, and finally bringing it stateside this past May. She’s been touring the world to promote the record, and her quirky fashion choices on stage play an integral role in the story she wishes to tell. “The greatest moments for me musically are when I let my guard down,” Kimbra says in InStyle’s November issue.
