On last night’s New Girl, Jess Day (Zooey Deschanel) veered away from her usual polka dots and stripes for a two-tone dress, and we found it… on sale! “This is a wrap dress with a lot of understated detail and style,” costume designer Deb McGuire told us of the Leifnotes dress, adding that it’s a “a good twist on the classic white blouse and skirt.” Buy it at anthropologie.com for $39.95, down from its original $148 price tag. Michael Jackson Auction Raises More Than $5 Million; Lady Gaga Buys 55 Pieces

The King of Pop’s legacy lives on through the iconic fashion he wore throughout his life and career—and now, his looks have raised more than $5 million for charity. Nearly 500 of his belongings were sold to the highest bidders at Julien’s Auctions this weekend in Los Angeles, and Lady Gaga was amongst the lucky buyers to take home a piece of pop culture history. She scored a pretty big chunk, too—the singer later tweeted, “The 55 pieces I collected today will be archived & expertly cared for in the spirit & love of Michael Jackson, his bravery, & fans worldwide.” While she did not reveal specifically what pieces she won, we’re hoping to see her don one of his memorable items soon. A portion of proceeds from the auction went to two charities, Guide Dogs of America and the Nathan Adelson Hospice of Las Vegas.

Nicki Minaj to Launch Second Lipstick for MAC Viva Glam

Nicki Minaj is the face of MAC’s Viva Glam—again! Earlier this year, she appeared with Ricky Martin in the campaign ads, but this time she’s all on her own. “I’m going solo as MAC’s new Viva Glam girl beginning February 2013!” she tweeted of her gig, which means she’ll collaborate with the brand to launch a new Viva Glam lipstick and gloss. The pale lavender products are a striking contrast to the Barbie pink Minaj created for 2012, and just like the Viva Glam shades of years past, all proceeds will benefit the MAC AIDS Fund. Chanel Debuts Scottish-Inspired Collection in a Palace: See the Photos

Karl Lagerfeld took a journey to the Scottish countryside to debut Chanel’s pre-fall collection yesterday—and we mean that quite literally. The designer showed the lineup in the historic Linlithgow Palace outside Edinburgh, the same location where Mary Queen of Scots was born, with Lords and Ladies sitting front row. The grandiose venue served as the perfect backdrop for the collection, titled Metiers d’Art, which turned out a chic mixture of classic Parisian cool and traditional Scottish style with kilts, of course, along with tartans, tweeds, argyle stockings, layers of lace, and Fair Isle sweaters. To modernize the look, Lagerfeld added his signature touches: chunky, piled-on jewelry, tough Doc Marten-style boots, cool-girl fingerless leather gloves with jewel-embellishment, and must-have handbags in a variety of colors and textures, including up-to-the-minute tech cases. Despite runway appearances by Stella Tennant, Cara Delevingne, and Jacquelyn Jablonski, the model who stole the show was four-year-old Hudson Kroenig (a.k.a. Kaiser Karl’s godson). Gossip Girl Fashion: Jennifer Behr Releases Blair Waldorf Headband Collection

The Gossip Girl series finale is less than two weeks away! And, thanks to accessories designer Jennifer Behr, we’re counting down to The End of an Era with Queen B’s very own pizzazz—Behr released a gift set featuring the most memorable pices Blair Waldorf (Leighton Meester) wore on the show. “Gossip Girl stylist Eric Daman did such a great job emboldening customers to start wearing some of our more fantastic pieces as everyday wear,” Jennifer Behr exclusively told InStyle.com.
