Congratulations, Francesca Fisher-Eastwood! The Hollywood Foreign Press Association just named the 19-year-old daughter of Clint Eastwood and Frances Fisher Miss Golden Globe 2013 at a party in Los Angeles tonight, which means she’ll help hand out the trophies during the upcoming 70th annual Golden Globes ceremony. Every year, the honor goes to a child of famous parents, and Francesca follows in the footsteps of last year’s Rainey Qualley (daughter of Andy MacDowell), Rumer Willis (daughter of Bruce Willis and Demi Moore in 2008), even half-sister Kathryn Eastwood, who took on the honor in 2005. “I’m really honored to be chosen as Miss Golden Globe 2013 and following in the footsteps of such amazing young women,” she said at the announcement party. And this is just one more step in her budding career—Eastwood currently stars alongside stepmom Dina and her photographer boyfriend Tyler Shields on E!’s Mrs. Eastwood & Company, is often spotted at events with mom Frances (above), and runs her own blog francescaeastwood.wordpress.com. If you think dressing for your office holiday party is tricky, try figuring out what to wear to a White House gala honoring your ex-boyfriend (a.k.a. The President of the United States). On tonight’s new episode of ABC’s hit drama Scandal, Olivia Pope (Kerry Washington) prepares to walk the line at Fitz’s 50th birthday bash and, we promise, some BIG surprises are in store! InStyle.com caught up with the show’s costume designer, Lyn Paolo for the skinny on the Jean Fares Couture gown she and Washington chose to perfectly suit the occasion. “Kerry and I wanted to find something as wonderful and stylish as the Calvin Klein vintage gown she wore last season,” Paolo said. “After much searching we found this vintage Fares gown, which did everything we needed it to do.” Read: wow the President while still allowing Olivia to glide through the night solving problems. “It is stunning, in Olivia Pope’s color palette and it moved beautifully on the body. It was just the perfect gown for this exciting next episode,” Paolo said. The change is subtle, but it’s there: Kate Bosworth’s hair has a new ombre effect. We noticed the star’s deeper blond roots at the Target and Neiman Marcus collaboration launch party in New York City last night, and it turns out, the change was a result of her role in the upcoming film Homefront. “I kept it pretty laid-back for this last role,” she told InStyle.com. “They added paint and darker roots to my hair, so this is my natural color at the top that was painted a little darker.” We’ve heard of balayage, where dye is painted directly onto the hair shaft to create a natural fade, but to play a such gritty part, Bosworth’s version tipped more toward arts and crafts than salon couture. “It’s literal paint. They’ll take alcohol and use it with the paint, and it stays on,” she added. Now that’s commitment to character!
