From Larry Hagman’s roles in I Dream of Jeannie (playing the sexy and reserved Major Nelson) to an unforgettable guest appearance on Desperate Housewives, the late actor—who died on Friday—was a true TV icon. But for us, his most memorable persona was that of oil tycoon JR Ewing, so much so that we named his character one of TV’s all-time best dressed dads.  The man behind one of primetime’s most buzzed about cliffhangers—Who Shot JR?—epitomized ranch style with spiked boots, fringed coats, and of course, his cowboy hat. The Dallas character’s iconic Stetson topper now sits at the Smithsonian National Museum of American History, ensuring his legacy lives on.
