It just wouldn’t be Thanksgiving without a few awkward family moments, and if you’re Mindy Kaling, it’s more than a few. On tonight’s new episode of The Mindy Project, the unlucky-in-love star opts to celebrate Turkey Day at her BFF Gwen’s (Anna Camp) house, only to find a former love interest occupying the seat next to her—guest star Ed Helms, who returns as Dennis, Mindy’s blind-date-gone-bad (remember episode one?). At least she has a cute, sparkly dress on! Tune in tonight to see what he’s been up to on a special Thanksgiving-themed episode of The Mindy Project at 9:30 p.m. EST on FOX.

I was so busy with preparing for the holiday and accommodating houseguests this week that I missed this episode. I’m so glad that I decided to go with DISH’s Hopper because of its Primetime Anytime feature. So even though my life runs on its own schedule I know that when I have this feature on it records all the primetime shows from the four major networks each night and saves them for eight days. I had one of my girlfriends I work with at DISH come over for lunch today and we watched this episode together. We both loved Mindy’s dress, but we’re still iffy about her sports lawyer boyfriend.
