Last night’s episode of Dancing With the Stars was a tribute to Veteran’s Day, so pro-dancer Karina Smirnoff designed her costume with the military in mind. “I wanted to make sure the colors of my dress represented our troops as well as the powerful tango,” Smirnoff told InStyle.com of the dance she performed with partner Apolo Anton Ohno. “The tango is a unique, fun, strong, and dominant dance, so I wanted to create two sides to the dress—a softer lower part and a powerful top. The high-waisted skirt was elegant and sophisticated, and the top part screamed out empowerment,” Smirnoff said. The pair earned a 29.5 out of 30 for their tango to “Holding Out for a Hero” (which featured Ohno zip-lining from the balcony onto the dance floor!), but is it enough to survive tonight’s double elimination? Watch the all-new episode at 8/7c on ABC to see who makes the final four!
