At-Home Keratin Treatments for Smooth Hair

Nov 11, 2012 @ 1:00 pm

We all envy the sleek, manageable manes of our favorite stars, but most of us don’t have the money or time to spend on high-maintenance styling. If you weren’t blessed with frizz-free hair, don’t fret. An easy, at-home keratin treatment will give you a similar flawless finish, leaving strands silky, sans the hefty price tag. “This works much like salon straightening treatments,” cosmetic chemist Jim Hammer says, “except the formaldehyde has been replaced with a kinder chemical that gives you basically the same results but is a lot safer to use.” Click through our gallery to see if a DIY keratin treatment is right for you, and start off your week with smooth, shiny hair!
