Inspired by the recent presidential election, Christina Aguilera opted for a patriotric-meets-bridal look for her team’s first live performances on The Voice last night. “I think Election Day was subliminally still in our system when we were getting ready,” her makeup artist, Kristofer Buckle, told InStyle.com exclusively. “The long liquid winged eyeliner gave the feeling of stripes, and a large particle light blue glitter on the lid gave the feeling of twinkling stars.” And the sparkle didn’t stop there. Aguilera also wore a dramatic crystal headpiece from Jennifer Behr’s bridal line anchored along her side part. “Christina pushes us to be creative, so the last thing she wanted to do was wear the headpiece the ‘normal’ way,” said her hairstylist, Mark Townsend. “The more outside the box, the happier Christina gets! Women tweeted me all last night telling me they wore the same hairpiece on their wedding day!” Tell us in the comments: Do you like Christina’s sparkly look?

LOVE IT!

I think Christina Aguilera looks good all the time when she’s on The Voice. She’s the whole reason I wanted to watch the show in the beginning. I loved this latest episode of The Voice, which was impressive. I’ve been watching The Voice on primetime, once it’s been recorded while I’m at work. One thing I hate’s when there are too many shows to record and not enough DVRs to do it with. This headache’s a thing of the past for me since I upgraded to the Hopper DVR, after my coworker at DISH suggested it. I can enable the PrimeTime Anytime feature and get all four major networks recorded on one TV. I can say good bye to the headaches and everyone gets what they want to watch. We can also play the recordings back at any TV location which makes things easier with just one box for everyone.
