As the underwriter of the CFDA/Vogue Fashion Fund since 2006, Nordstrom is expanding its support of the initiative, which annually selects a winner from 10 up-and-coming American designers to receive a $300,000 grant to pursue independent design work. The retailer will open six pop-up shop-in-shops across the country peddling the designs of all 10 finalists, including jewelry designer Jennifer Fisher and New York-based womenswear designer Wes Gordon. “We are proud to evolve our commitment to the future of American fashion by hosting CFDA/Vogue Fashion Fund shops in our stores,” Jeffrey Kalinsky, Nordstrom executive vice president of design, said in a statement. “We think that our customers will be excited to have access to the collections from these talented designers.” The shops, which will live inside existing Nordstrom stores, will open in February in five locations: Seattle, San Francisco, Los Angeles, Chicago, and Dallas, as well as the Nordstrom-owned charity boutique, treasure&bond, in New York City.

News flash! 1920s fashion is having a major moment! With the anticipation of Downton Abbey‘s return on January 6 and the 2013 release of The Great Gatsby, starring Carey Mulligan and Leonardo DiCaprio, how could it not?
