Robert Pattinson Talks His Loud Kissing on Jimmy Kimmel

Nov 7, 2012 @ 1:22 pm

While at Jimmy Kimmel Live for his latest stop on a whirlwind Twilight: Breaking Dawn – Part 2 media tour—though based on the women screaming in the audience, we’re not sure they even need to promote the franchise—Robert Pattinson (aka Edward) had some very choice words about a clip Kimmel showed of Pattinson with co-star and real-life girlfriend Kristen Stewart (Bella) that culminated in quite the lip-lock. “I just realized something, and this [scene] is a very clear example of it,” the actor (in an Alexander McQueen suit) said. “In basically every scene of the series I end up kissing someone, and I have such extraordinarily loud little pecks. It sounds like I’m walking around in wellies. I don’t understand. It’s like my lip is a vacuum. It’s not sexy at all.” Um, we disagree—big time! Just watching the video from his interview (above) made our hearts go aflutter and now we’re even more enamored with the star. So, who else is going to keep count of how many times Pattinson’s loud kissing technique takes over the big screen when Breaking Dawn – Part 2 comes out on November 16?

Jessica Alba played off the petal pink hue of her Valentino gown with a matching—but not overdone—lipstick when she was honored at the Baby2Baby Gala in Los Angeles this weekend. And her makeup artist Fiona Stiles told us the exact shade! Stiles chose Koh Gen Do’s Maifanshi Lipstick in Fresh Pink to complement Alba’s graphite shadow and rosy flush, a hydrating lipstick that glides on with a sheer finish. Nordstrom to Open Six CFDA Fashion Fund Pop-Up Shops in Stores Across the Country

Nov 7, 2012 @ 12:50 pm

As the underwriter of the CFDA/Vogue Fashion Fund since 2006, Nordstrom is expanding its support of the initiative, which annually selects a winner from 10 up-and-coming American designers to receive a $300,000 grant to pursue independent design work. The retailer will open six pop-up shop-in-shops across the country peddling the designs of all 10 finalists, including jewelry designer Jennifer Fisher and New York-based womenswear designer Wes Gordon. We are proud to evolve our commitment to the future of American fashion by hosting CFDA/Vogue Fashion Fund shops in our stores,” Jeffrey Kalinsky, Nordstrom executive vice president of design, said in a statement. “We think that our customers will be excited to have access to the collections from these talented designers.” The shops, which will live inside existing Nordstrom stores, will open in February in five locations: Seattle, San Francisco, Los Angeles, Chicago, and Dallas, as well as the Nordstrom-owned charity boutique, treasure&bond, in New York City.

Michelle Obama’s Election Night Outfit: All the Details

Nov 7, 2012 @ 11:24 am

Four more years of President Barack Obama also means four more years of style from First Lady Michelle Obama! To kick off term two in Chicago last night, the First Lady chose a magenta pintucked high-shine silk dress look by Michael Kors, a piece she pulled from her closet (we first saw her wear the dress in 2010 to a military Medal of Honor ceremony at the White House). She accessorized with a black shrug, pointy-toe pumps, and a House of Lavande 1950s Schreiner magenta rhinestone brooch. Four years ago, when her husband was first elected, she wore a vivid red Narciso Rodriguez sheath, which coordinated with daughters Sasha and Malia. This time around, she stands on her own. Tell us: do you like the First Lady’s election outfit?

Alessandra Ambrosio, Daughter Star in London Fog Ad Campaign

Nov 7, 2012 @ 11:09 am

Alessandra Ambrosio, who will wear the highly coveted Fantasy Bra at this year’s Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show, posed with her 4-year-old daughter, Anja, for London Fog’s Winter 2012 ad campaign, and they look adorable! Following in the footsteps of Nicole Scherzinger, Christina Hendricks, and Gisele Bündchen as the face of the brand, Ambrosio and Anja model London Fog’s latest outerwear offerings in a series of sweet shots. “Having my daughter steal the spotlight is pretty funny and I just love it!” Ambrosio said of sharing the lens with her daughter. “She had a great time on set and is going to be wearing all of the London Fog kids jackets.” A budding supermodel, perhaps? Shop the winter looks when they hit department stores and londonfog.com in December.

President Obama Re-Elected: The First Family Then and Now

He’s back! President Barack Obama secured himself another four years in our nation’s highest office last night, and when the First Family took the stage in Chicago, we were struck by how much they have grown. With the same results on Election Night four years ago—an Obama victory—Barack (then 47, now 51), Michelle (then 44, now 48), Malia (then 10, now 14), and Sasha (then 7, now 11) all coordinated in red outfits, most strikingly the new First Lady in a Narcisco Rodriguez red and black dress that will forever be etched in our memories. Fast forward four years to last night, when the family coordinated in a new way, not with color, but with high-shine, walking across the stage in glossy individualized looks, including Michelle in a magenta pintucked dress by Michael Kors. And there is no stopping the family’s growth now—by the time the president leaves office in 2016, Malia will even be eligible to vote and be dealing with college. This also means four more years of the First Lady style, and we can’t wait to see how she and her entire family continues to evolve over the next four years, within the walls of 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue and beyond.

See all of Michelle’s best looks!

Downton Abbey 1920s-Inspired Wedding Dresses

Nov 7, 2012 @ 10:41 am

News flash! 1920s fashion is having a major moment! With the anticipation of Downton Abbey‘s return on January 6 and the 2013 release of The Great Gatsby, starring Carey Mulligan and Leonardo DiCaprio, how could it not? When hit PBS series Downton Abbey kicks off its third season stateside, the Crawley clan will be ushering in a new decade and a new marriage—Lady Mary (Michelle Dockery) and Cousin Matthew (Dan Stevens) are set to wed. And while flapper fringe and knotted pearls (à la The Great Gatsby) may immediately come to mind when you think ’20s fashion, Downton Abbey appears to be taking a more subtle approach, and if you’re planning to say “I do” in a wedding dress in the style of the Jazz Age, we suggest doing the same to avoid looking costumey. You may not be able to snag Lady Mary’s custom-made gown, but a number of designers including Reem Acra and Alice Temperley took a cue from the era for their most recent (Fall 2013) bridal collections. Click through the gallery below to see our favorite ’20s-inspired wedding dresses.
