Glee fans across the nation have been bemoaning the fact that the show has taken a month-long forced hiatus because of inconsequential things like baseball and the presidential debates—so when we saw series creator Ryan Murphy at the Golden Hearts Gala in New York, we had to ask him why he devastated fans even further with the #heartbreaking episode from a couple of weeks ago, which saw Rachel and Finn part ways. “To me that episode was really special,” Murphy told InStyle.com. “It was about this group of people who we’ve followed for three years in many ways making the transition from kids to adults. I didn’t feel it was realistic that all of them would hang on to the same high school relationships.” But will Finn and Rachel stay apart forever? “I think when we come back [from hiatus] we continue to explore those breakups, and some of those people get back together and have happy endings,” Murphy said. “Of course, some of them don’t.” Such a tease! Tune into FOX on November 4 at 9 p.m. EST to see more (or possibly less) #heartbreak!

FINCHEL IS FOREVER don’t run the show into the ground murphy

-Amanda on October 22nd, 2012

I sure hope Rachel and Finn get their happy ending. The show is so much about them as individual characters and them as a couple that if they cheapen their ending I will be extremely upset. Rachel can have it all, a career and love, and Finn happens to be who she loves.

I have no doubt that Finchel will end up together in the end. I’ve always had faith in them and I know the writers do too. Let them blow smoke up out butts for now, but I have no doubt Finchel is endgame

i pray Finchel will be the one to reunite at some point… out of those three that broke up i think they were the one that was most comitted to thei love and they broke up so that they could better themselves before uniting as a stronger couple

Now, more than ever, Finchel Forever

I really hope the ones who are getting back together and having their happy ending are Finn and Rachel. Otherwise the whole of Glee’s story will have meant nothing.

Finchel Is Forever! This beautiful couple deserve a happy ending with everything they have been through together

-Lisa on October 22nd, 2012

Finn and Rachel’s story is the metaphor that underpin’s the key message of Glee, and if the showrunners keep true to this message, there is no way that Finn and Rachel will not find their happy ending. I am just hoping that the showrunners keep the integrity of these characters as they navigate their way to their dreams and to each other, so that they are better persons with much to offer to each other and to the relationship when they finally get back together. This is my prayer. Finchel Forever.

Since when was glee entirely “realistic”? Half the time when one might question something on the show, the answer would be “Yeah, but it’s glee.” It’s about happiness (err, you know? glee) and giving the fans what they want. Can you do that for us Ryan Murphy?
