If you’re on the books for a trim or dramatic crop, cancel your next appointment and head to the salon tonight! Marking Davines’ second annual Sustainable Beauty Day, the hair care company teamed up with over 50 salons nationwide to raise money for The Fruit Tree Planting Foundation. Cut and styling services are free of charge today, with salons asking for a minimum donation of $15 toward the cause. Last year, the day raised over $25,000 and helped plant 6,000 fruit trees across Mozambique and in South Africa. “This is a great way to introduce ourselves to some new clients while supporting a great cause,” Gill Hodgson owner of Taboo Hair Salon in Los Angeles told InStyle.com about participating. This year, 100% of profits will fund a fruit tree planting project in Brazil which will serve as a direct food source for in-need communities. Want to get involved? Visit FTPF to see participating salons nationwide.
