Davines’ Sustainable Beauty Day: Get Involved!

If you’re on the books for a trim or dramatic crop, cancel your next appointment and head to the salon tonight! Marking Davines’ second annual Sustainable Beauty Day, the hair care company teamed up with over 50 salons nationwide to raise money for The Fruit Tree Planting Foundation. Cut and styling services are free of charge today, with salons asking for a minimum donation of $15 toward the cause. Last year, the day raised over $25,000 and helped plant 6,000 fruit trees across Mozambique and in South Africa. “This is a great way to introduce ourselves to some new clients while supporting a great cause,” Gill Hodgson owner of Taboo Hair Salon in Los Angeles told InStyle.com about participating. This year, 100% of profits will fund a fruit tree planting project in Brazil which will serve as a direct food source for in-need communities. Want to get involved? Vera Wang named her fall 2013 bridal collection “All About Lace,” though we’d call it “All About Volume.” Each design seemed to have more layers of lace, tulle, and organza than the next, yet—and this speaks to Wang’s bridal expertise—each still looked light enough so the models seemed to float down the runway. Aside from the princess-worthy ballgowns, many of the looks featured intricate bodices, with corset detailing, ribbon embroidery, and leaf lace twisted in cords. On tonight’s episode of The Voice, the battle rounds continue, and we have the exclusive details about Christina Aguilera’s colorful look. “Christina decided to dye the tips of her hair turquoise, so when choosing an outfit, we decided to go with a dress that had personality, but that complemented her hair,” stylist Simone Harouche told InStyle.com of the singer’s outfit, which included a printed jersey dress by Alexander McQueen, pink suede Louboutin Mary Jane daffodil heels, and Loree Rodkin jewels. ”This was the perfect combination of fun, sexy and youthful edge.” Aguilera isn’t shy when it comes to accessories—look at that crystal-studded fan! Marchesa’s New Wedding Dress Collection: See the Photos

While we wait for the reveal of Blake Lively’s custom Marchesa wedding gown, the label’s designer Georgina Chapman and co-founder Keren Craig gave us something new to buzz about at their fall 2013 bridal runway show. The ethereal collection, inspired by the architectural iris and romantic Bulgarian Rose, included feminine elements like cascading silk chiffon petals, scalloped chantilly lace and ruffles all topped off with Miriam Haskell’s dreamy glass pearl earrings and hairpins. In addition to the subtle hits of gold and silver, blush peeked through the sculpted bodices and got us back to thinking about Lively’s gown, which featured rose gold embroidery and hand-draping. Tuned In: Kim Raver Joins Revolution Tonight

There’s a new player in the dark world of Revolution! Former Grey’s Anatomy and 24 star Kim Raver joins the cast tonight and we hear she’ll have a key role—but the question is, for which side? Just when we thought wine hues had taken over, Two Broke Girls star Beth Behrs warmed us up with a bold coral hue. ”We wanted to create a bright, sensual lip against a warm healthy glow,” her makeup artist Jamie Greenberg told InStyle.com of the color, which was created by layering two cream lipsticks. Greenberg first applied Mark Lip Click Full Color Lipstick in Cha Cha, then filled in the matte lip with Mark Lip Click Full Color Lipstick in Coral Fixation using a lip brush.
