As American Idol’s sixth winner, what does Jordin Sparks think of the show’s newly appointed judges, Mariah Carey and Nicki Minaj? When they got announced, I was really excited,” Sparks told InStyle.com when we caught up with her at last night’s City of Hope gala in Los Angeles honoring  of Halston designer Ben Malka. “I am one of Mariah’s biggest fans ever, and I was very excited to see that she was going to be a part of it.” As for Nicki, the decision “makes sense,” Sparks added. “There are [contestants] who rap, and that’s a talent, too, she told us. “I know I can’t do it!” Sparks hopes to one day sit behind the table, though not right away. “I got asked [to judge], and I said no initially, because [as a former contestant] I don’t know if I could be that critical of people who are trying so hard,” she said. “Now I’m kind of looking at it like I think I could do it. We’ll see if there’s an offer someday!”

Makeup Straight from the Nashville Set

Oct 11, 2012 @ 1:12 pm

Hayden Panettiere and Connie Britton went head-to-head as dueling Country music stars last night on the season premiere of Nashville—and they looked stunning doing it. We caught up with the show’s makeup artist, Erin Koplow, and got the inside scoop on her favorite products and how she gives the actors their Southern glow. “One product that I truly can’t live without is Neutrogena’s Healthy Skin Custom Glow Blush and Bronzer,” Koplow told InStyle.com in an exclusive interview. “It gives them a healthy, sun-kissed glow.” For a nice flush into the fall, use a large round-headed brush and sweep the bronzer upward on those areas that the sun would naturally hit—forehead, tip of the nose, and apples of the cheeks. To get the stars’ bold, stage-ready eyes, Koplow used a liquid liner on lids and applied a generous coat of Neutrogena’s Healthy Volume Mascara in Carbon Black. “This mascara is a must!” she told us. “It gives them full, lush lashes and provides the perfect eye framing.” After using an eyelash curler, apply two coats of the mascara starting at the root of lashes, pulling upward. Pick up the bronzer for $9 and the mascara for $6 at neutrogena.com.

Inside eBay’s Intimate Dinner Celebrating the Launch of Feed

Oct 11, 2012 @ 12:01 pm

“I’m always on eBay!” said designer  Chris Benz, who joined the e-retailer’s Global Marketplaces President, Devin Wenig, for the an intimate dinner celebrating its latest innovation at the Highline Stages in New York City. “It’s where I find inspiration for my collections, my apartment, and everything. I can spend hours on it.” And now, eBay will come to him and its millions of other users thanks to a new feature called Feed (ebay.com/feed), an automated, personalized, and continuously updated aggregation that tailors eBay’s 350 million items to your wants and needs. (Think Pinterest, but shoppable.) “The future is about the ability to search and browse, so [Feed] is not just a utility; it can be fun [as well],” said Wenig, who welcomed the 50 designers, editors, and tastemakers to the evening by showing off his own Feed, packed with sporty Dri-Fit clothing and Jets memorabilia. Exclusive Details: Stacy Keibler Is Working with Stylist Brad Goreski Now

Oct 11, 2012 @ 11:52 am

When we spotted Stacy Keibler at The Macallan/Annie Leibovitz photo exhibit last night at the Bowery Hotel in New York, we couldn’t help but notice that the model girlfriend of George Clooney was carrying the bright red Kate Spade New York Post Street Little Adair clutch to offset her all-black outfit. Turns out, there are some interesting connections here: Keibler revealed exclusively to InStyle.com that she has been working with celebrity stylist (and color proponent) Brad Goreski, who is also the exclusive brand stylist of Kate Spade: He helped her pick out that amazing vintage Azzedine Alaïa cutout dress she wore to last week’s Argo premiere. “I worked with Brad, and I put that Alaïa dress on, and it was just like, ‘Done,‘” she told us. (The stylist has also worked with the likes of Jessica Alba, Rashida Jones, and Christina Ricci.) “It was vintage from New York, and it just fit perfectly. It was just the one.” Now we’re wondering if Goresky influenced her eye-catching look last night—a Bill Blass blazer, J Brand jeans, and sky-high Jimmy Choo stilettos. And on the subject of those shoes, which made the already 5’11″ Keibler well over six feet: “I have a pair of flats in the car for later,” Keibler told us.

Jennifer Aniston Teams Up with Living Proof

Oct 11, 2012 @ 11:48 am

Jennifer Aniston‘s hair does it again! From her famous Rachel cut to the mid-length sleek layers she’s been spotted in lately, those locks of hers get almost as much attention as she does. And now, they’ve helped land her a gem of a deal. (No, we’re not talking about that ginormous engagement ring.) The star just announced she will be teaming up with hair-care label Living Proof not only as spokesperson, but as a co-owner to boot. She’ll also head up the company’s development and creative team, and expects to draw from her own experiences in the salon chair to provide direction and help create new products. “My hair has taken a serious beating,” Aniston said in a statement. “Living Proof uses scientific technologies that offer women actual proof in a bottle rather than hoping for results. This is a solution that works everyday.“ Living Proof CEO Jill Beraud returned the compliment: “Jennifer embodies everything we stand for—a unique combination of beauty and brains,”  she said.

Head over to our Hollywood Makeover Tool and try on Jennifer’s famous layers!
