Christy Turlington Burns teamed up with Ergobaby to create a collection of baby accessories benefitting her charity, Every Mother Counts. “They understand the importance of the bonding between a mother and child,” Turlington Burns told InStyle.com of why she got involved at the launch of the collection. The idea is in line with her non-profit, which raises awareness for maternal health and aims to reduce maternal mortality worldwide. The collection includes two carriers, a diaper bag, and a purse, each featuring an “Umbra” fabric created by a designer from Togo, Africa and a message saying “my mom counts.” “To create something that was special and inspired by some of the countries with the worst statistics was really important,” she added. “I almost want to have a baby again to go through enjoying what these things do!” The items are now available on store.ergobaby.com, and a portion of the proceeds will be donated to Every Mother Counts.

It’s getting cold in London, but Kate Middleton is fully prepared (like always) with some chic outerwear. The Duchess of Cambridge helped launch of the Football Association’s National Football Centre at St. George’s Park on Monday in knee-high black Aquatalia boots and the heather grey Reiss Angel coat from the fall 2010 collection, which she cinched with the brand’s Betony belt. The next day she repeated the look with a different color palette—an aubergine coat by an unnamed independent British designer, a look she first wore last Christmas Day for the royal services. And finally, she partied in London last night (with Pippa!) in all black, including a long, tuxedo-style coat. No one does warm-and-toasty outerwear quite like this princess!

Diane Kruger’s sophisticated side-swept hairstyle for the Chanel Bijoux de Diamant 80th anniversary party this week proved once again why she’s such a red carpet master. Lucky for us, celebrity hairstylist Thomas Dunkin gave us the inside scoop on how he created her coif. “Wash hair thoroughly, and apply Sebastian Professional Stylixir to the lengths of towel-dried hair,” he told InStyle.com. “Using a round brush, blow dry the hair straight.” To hold the style, Dunkin suggests tightly twisting hair left of the part and securing with two bobby pins. Bring the rest of the hair over your right shoulder and finish the look by applying Sebastian Professional Shine Crafter Wax to strand’s shafts for a glossy finish. Vincent Kartheiser made a very Mad Men-esque appearance at last night’s Macallan/Annie Leibovitz photo exhibit in New York, walking around the Bowery Hotel dressed in a fitted Hugo Boss suit, Scotch in one hand, co-star and girlfriend Alexis Bledel in the other. Feeling Pete Campbell vibes from across the room, we sauntered over to the actor to discuss the show’s buzzed-about fashion. “I think the most interesting thing about our show is that we have fashion not just from our era,” Kartheiser told InStyle.com about costume designer Janie Bryant‘s Emmy award-winning work on the show. “[Some men on the show are] wearing clothes from five years ago. So we have characters who are still dressing like the 1940s, characters still dressing like the 1950s, and then people who are progressive and dressing right to the height of fashion.” As far as plot progressions go, the details remain under lock-and-key. “I don’t know what year it is, I don’t even know what time of year it is,” Kartheiser said of what to expect. “I called them and said, ‘Should I be tan? Should I be pale?’ And they were like, ‘We can’t tell you.’ I guess they’ll just pale or tan me as they need.” Too bad we have to wait until the show returns to AMC in 2013 to find out.

Lauren Conrad’s new holiday collection for Kohl’s hits stores in November, and it’s filled it with party-perfect outfits. “When designing, I like to imagine where the clothes will be worn,” Conrad had told InStyle.com. For this collection, she must have imagined holiday get-togethers and New Year’s Eve parties. Her cozy knit sweaters, corduroy pants, and sparkly separates would light up any celebration. Click through the gallery to preview the entire holiday line, and shop in stores and online at kohls.com in November.
The wait is almost over! Tonight the vampires of Mystic Falls return in the fourth season premiere of The Vampire Diaries, and if it follows in the footsteps of last season’s shocking finale, it’ll be a doozy! The story saw Elena (Nina Dobrev) join the undead (beware of vampire-blood transfusions!), which means she can now recall memories other vampires had compelled her to forget. Bear with us: This is going to be particularly important to her relationship with Stefan (Paul Wesley), whom she chose over his brother Damon (Ian Somerhalder) at end of last season. Elena’s decision was influenced by her belief that Stefan has been there for her from the beginning—except—what will happen when she finds out that she actually met Damon first and he wiped away her memory! Whew—looks like this love triangle isn’t going anywhere, viewers. You won’t have to compel us to see how this unfolds. Catch The Vampire Diaries tonight on the CW 8/7c.
