On last night’s episode of Dancing with the StarsKarina Smirnoff went for a ’40s glam look for her foxtrot to “Fever” with partner Apolo Anton Ohno. Her draped “statue” gown transformed into a sparkly top and sheer black high-waisted pants when Ohno removed the white fabric at the beginning of the dance. “I wanted the designs to be memorable and stand out next to the beautiful statues and props we had,” Sminoff told InStyle.com. “When we walked into the creative fashion department and saw the hand-beaded net material, I knew I wanted to use it.” That’s why her look involved costume jewelry, long silk gloves, and a head piece. “It was an experience to create,” she said.
