The hills are alive—it’s Julie Andrews’ birthday! The Sound of Music’s songstress turns 77 today, which gives you the perfect reason to listen to her sweeping original rendition of the film’s titular song. Born in Walton-on-Thames in 1935, she scored her pivotal role roaming the hills of Austria in 1959, the same year she wed Tony Walton (see her memorable, sweet kiss on the cheek at right). Several years later, Andrews starred as the iconic character in 1964’s Mary Poppins, thusly securing her place in most of our childhood hearts forever. Happy birthday, Julie!
