With five Emmys under their belt, Modern Family returns tonight with its season 4 premiere! In the season’s first episode, “Bringing Up Baby,” Jay celebrates his zillionth birthday and, as usual, doesn’t want to be bothered while Gloria tries to figure out a way to tell him that she’s pregnant. To honor our favorite funny family, we’ve rounded up the top 5 things we love about Sofia Vergara!
We finally stopped obsessing over the amazing custom-made tiara Michelle Dockery wears during Lady Mary Crawley’s wedding to Matthew Crawley on Downton Abbey, and now there’s another reason to freak! Caroline McCall, the costume designer for the British hit series, confirmed to Grazia UK that the wedding dress Dockery dons to walk down the aisle was crafted by hand, and cost 4,000 British pounds (that‘s nearly $6,500!) to create. “Lady Mary’s wedding dress was the most expensive costume we’ve made,” McCall told Grazia. “It’s a silver lace tabard fabric that goes into a train at the back, and underneath is a silk dress with silk sleeves. The lace goes into a ‘V’ at the back with tiny buttons and it’s completely edged with tiny rice pearls and Swarovski crystal.” A tiara made of antique diamonds and a dress edged with Swarovski crystals? No wonder Lady Mary’s grandmother (played by the epic Maggie Smith) once politely asked: “What is a weekend?“

Carrie Bradshaw—err—Sarah Jessica Parker returns to primetime television tomorrow night on Glee! And we couldn’t be more excited. Eight (really!) long years after Sex and the City bid airwaves adieu in 2004, SJP is back as a high-fashion magazine editor (sound familiar) and mentor to her new intern, Kurt Hummel (Chris Colfer). While we can’t say for sure whether her character Isabelle Wright will be strutting around in Manolos or a nameplate necklace, we can confirm that she is officially adorable in this teaser clip. The scene features Isabelle and Kurt’s first meeting, where the two fashion gurus bond over Breadsticks and Kurt’s unique fashion sense. Tune in: SJP’s multi-episode arc beings tomorrow (September 27) at 9/8c on FOX.

Kim Kardashian hosted a Midori Makeover Parlour event at L.A. department store Fred Segal last night, where she stayed close to mom Kris Jenner. “Glammed up for my Midori event by none other than @realmakeupbymario & Frankie Payne” Kim tweeted. The reality star matched her emerald green wrap dress to the melon liqueur—Midori—that sponsored the evening’s event. Click through the gallery to see who else hit the party circuit last night.
It’s off the mats and cameras rolling for Fierce Five teammates McKayla Maroney and Gabby Douglas. The Olympic gold medal gymnasts are taking a break from the vault and the uneven bars to film guest spots on two of the CW’s hottest dramas. While Maroney will join the Bluebell cast on Hart of Dixie, Douglas visited The Vampire Diaries‘ Nina Dobrev and her costar/real-life boyfriend Ian Somerhalder on the Mystic Falls set earlier this week. And its mutual admiration between the actors and the athlete. After shooting wrapped, Dobrev tweeted: “Thanks for coming @gabrielledoug , I hope you had fun—you were great ! Smile is even brighter in person… : )” We think it’s an all-around brilliant match! Further proof that the CW really loves its olympians? Gold-medal swimmer Ryan Lochte will play himself in an upcoming episode of 90210. No word yet on whether his wardrobe involves a Speedo… Hart of Dixie returns on Tuesday, October 2, at 8 p.m. EST, and The Vampire Diaries kicks off season 4 on Thursday, October 11, at 8 p.m. EST.

Japanese fashion brand Kenzo has rolled out the final designs—for fall/winter—from its adorable Vans collaboration for hipster-chic retailer Opening Ceremony, and we’re super-charmed by the cute patterns! The standout pair, called “Heard It Through The Grapevine,” features, well, grapes, and leaves against either a white or black background (depending on whether you’re a more classic sneaker kind of girl, or into something a with a little more drama.) We also love the “marble black and white” and the “moth blue and black.” Shop the whole collection here! And we have a feeling Kristen Stewart might be into these—she loves wearing kicks on the red carpet.

While there may have been some stunning jewelry on the 2012 Emmys red carpet, it was Kelly Osbourne’s 267-carat black diamond-adorned nails that really caught our attention! Bringing a whole new meaning to the phrase “dripping in diamonds,” the E! Fashion Police host stepped out with a cool quarter-million dollar manicure from L.A.-based high-end jeweler Azature. “The black diamond is the ultimate fine jewel. Its combination of beauty, mystery, and sophistication makes it a timeless luxury,” Azature told InStyle.com. “One day I thought, why not showcase this style on nails? So I developed a black diamond-infused nail polish with the same attention and quality as my jewelry.” With the launch of the lacquer, the jeweler translates his love for the world’s finest gems into a beauty must-have. However, if the limited-edition $250,000 bottle is out of your price range, you can snap up a $25 version of the world’s most expensive nail polish (at azature.com) to achieve the black diamond digits.
