The 64th annual Primetime Emmy Awards‘ red carpet was not just about the dresses. We loved how some of our favorite actresses interpreted one of fall’s hottest beauty trends—the manicure. First-time Emmy nominee Zooey Deschanel flashed miniature TV sets (how fitting!) on her thumbs. “She wanted to keep this look soft and fresh but sparkly,” L’Oréal nail artist  Tom Bachik, who fashioned the New Girl‘s nails, told InStyle.com. Here’s how to recreate the look at home. Start by applying a thin yellow coat of L’Oréal Paris Colour Riche Nail in Tweet Me ($4.99 at drugstores), then add a coat of L’Oréal Paris Colour Riche Nail in Sweet Nothings ($4.99 at drugstores) to soften the tone. Next, dab a chunky silver metallic shade on random areas of the nails for a glittery fade-out, and put Swarovski crystals in the glitter to create a “peach galaxy.” Finish with “hand-painted deco televisions on the thumbs for fun!” Bachik says. We’re totally tuned into this look. And since we’re obsessed  with everything nails, we rounded up the best red carpet tips. Click through the gallery to see the coolest Emmy manicures!
