We caught up with her hairstylist Ursula Stephen, and it turns out, this is a look she and RiRi have been plotting! “We’ve been talking about going short for a little while now, and we actually planned to cut it the following week, but I just felt like — why wait? Let’s do it for today!” she told InStyle.com. “Rihanna was ready for her short hair again.” To maintain a similar cut, Stephen recommends using Motions Radiating Gloss ($6; drugstore.com) and Motions Shine Enhancing Pomade ($4; target.com) to create a shiny finish with a soft hold. “The gloss gives the pomade a little slip, and creates a smooth texture that won’t sit heavy on the short style,” Stephen advised.
