Lily Collins Is a Redhead Now! All the Details

Sep 10, 2012 @ 9:40 pm

Lily Collins is a master of saturated hair color! After going ebony brown for her role in Mirror, Mirror, the 23-year-old actress dyed her strands a deep shade of burgundy red for her upcoming part in The Mortal Instruments: City of Bones. “It’s not-in-your-face kind of red,” she told us of her new hue when she stopped by the InStyle portrait studio during the Toronto International Film Festival, where she promoted her flick, Writers. “To lighten it, they had to kind of do a whole process on it, which I’m always dubious of because it changes the integrity of your hair. I’ve dyed it once before red and it just really ruined my hair. So we’ve done it the right way this time.” And she’s taking care of it, too. “The hairstylist on set is doing treatments on me all the time, and we’re only retouching it every three weeks. She’s using great masques and doing all this stuff to keep it super soft.” Looks great!

Pierce Brosnan Knows He’s a Dapper-Dressing Man

Ever since his days as “Bond—James Bond,” we can’t look at Pierce Brosnan without thinking about how great he looks in a suit. And, when we met him at the Toronto International Film Festival—where he was in town to promote his romantic comedy Love Is All You Need—we found that he has an essence of quiet elegance emanating around him (and he was wearing a blazer, of course). The best part is that he knows it, too. “I do like clothes, and I suppose I like the dapperness of it all,” the actor told us before getting his picture taken at InStyle’s pop-up portrait studio in Toronto’s Windsor Arms Hotel. “It’s great to dress up. I love style.” His dapperness continues on screen for his new film, in which he wears a blue look suit by Ermenegildo Zegna—something definitely on par with the Brioni looks he wore for Goldeneye.

Runway Looks We Love: Donna Karan

Sep 10, 2012 @ 7:29 pm

If DKNY was all about the hustle of New York, Donna Karan‘s collection was all about the calm. Inspired by “coming into the city, light reflected on buildings,” metropolitan influences like the skyline, water and glass played a role in the sculpted, draped and shredded designs. The colors were dyed for a muted effect that mimicked dawn and dusk—ranging from watery blues and sea greens to gold, sienna and sunset pink. The accessories too caught the urban tone with sculpted lucite headpieces and cuffs reflecting against the architectural garb.
