FlashdanceEverett Collection

What a feeling! Flashdance, the 1983 dance classic starring Jennifer Beals, is making it’s way to the Great White Way. The cult classic was iconic for its Grammy-nominated soundtrack, which included Irene Cara’s “Flashdance” and Michael Sembello’s “Maniac,” as well as its signature ’80s fashions, like cut-off sweatshirts and high-cut leotards. And it’s not the only film that’s moved from screen to stage lately! Bring It On is earning rave reviews right now in its limited run, while Rodgers and Hammerstein’s Cinderella and Magic Mike, the Musical are due out soon. We can’t wait to see which of the Flashdance‘s famous songs make the final cut! Tell us: Would you see Flashdance as a musical?

Plus, see stars who started on the stage.
