Be sure to take a closer look at the sky tonight—we’re scheduled to see a blue moon! While the sky won’t actually light up in an azure haze, the term refers to the second rising of the full moon within the same month. There won’t be another blue moon until July 2015, so to celebrate the lunar event, we rounded up our six favorite half-moon manicures. The circular pattern is a throwback to Old Hollywood, and was a staple among silver screen sirens of the ’30s.
