Maria Sharapova Launches “Sugarpova” Candy (Yum!)

The tennis champ, who just scored a silver medal for Russia at the London Olympics and is prepping for the upcoming US Open, channeled her inner Willy Wonka and launched a colorful candy line named Sugarpova at Henri Bendel‘s Fifth Avenue flagship today. “I’ve always had a sweet tooth,” Sharapova (in custom David Koma) told InStyle.com. “I’ve been part of many great collaborations and fun collections, but I’ve never owned something, and I wanted to be involved 100%.” The line boasts 12 kinds of candy, from tennis ball-shaped gum balls to sour jelly lips, with cute names like Smitten and Quirky (the latter being her favorite, she told us, for its fun mix of licorice and marshmallow).
