Ombre highlights may have seemed trendy last year, but this look has some serious staying power. The two-tone effect is popular among stars like Jessica Biel, Lea Michele, Poppy Montgomery, and Emily Blunt, mostly because of how dynamic it can be. “It gives the hair so many dimensions with it not being one solid color, but still hasn’t lost the overall richness,” Montgomery’s hairstylist David Stanwell told InStyle.com. Stanwell recommends bringing a picture to the salon with you so your stylist can see the gradation in shades, even with a fiery hue like Montgomery’s. ”With this style, you want the depth at the roots fading toward the mid-lengths, then add blond at the ends fading upwards,” he advised.
