Beyoncé took her Girls Run the World mantra straight to the United Nations! The singer is the face of this year’s World Humanitarian Day campaign “I Was Here,” named after her power ballad that reminds listeners to “say I lived each day until I die, and know that I meant something in somebody’s life.” To encourage the world to get involved on WHD Sunday, August 19th, she filmed a private performance at the United Nations in New York, wearing a beaded white column by Marc Bouwer, which will be revealed on the World Humanitarian Day website come Sunday. The video—and its inspiring message to “do something good for someone else”—will be distributed socially by anyone who signs up… and that means you! To get involved in the campaign, sign into your Twitter and/or Facebook account and click thunderclap.it/whd-iwashere. Then choose the “Support With Twitter” or “Support With Facebook” buttons at the bottom left of the screen. You’ll get a prompt to “Add Your Support.” Once you click that, you have signed up to send a tweet to all of your followers on August 19th at 6 a.m. (it’ll send automatically) for World Humanitarian Day.
