Xena Inspires the Military to Give the Ladies a Makeover

The Army is giving its female fighters a makeover—inspired by Xena, the Warrior Princess! According to Army engineers, new uniforms have been designed to give our military women more protection, with a little more wiggle room for natural curves. “Some people would like to eventually make plates so it’s like Xena: Warrior Princess and conforms to the shape,” Lieutenant Colonel Frank Lozano told Christian Science Monitor. Fierce! Women in the Army can look forward to eight new sizes of female body armor with narrower shoulders and Xena’s bra-shaped darting at the chest. Life does imitate art!

Lea Michele’s New Candie’s Campaign: See the Photos!

Candie’s just unveiled its new fall campaign starring Glee’s Lea Michele, and we have a behind-the-scenes look at the shoot! Lady Gaga’s Fragrance Will Be Priced at $30

As if the news of her upcoming scent wasn’t exciting enough, Lady Gaga’s fragrance is guaranteed not to break the bank. Mother Monster took to Twitter last week to announce she’ll be launching two versions of Fame: A $30 version, as well as a luxury bottle. “One is more affordable. The other is Le Masterpiece, larger bottle, metal cap, and eau de parfum. My baby!” the star tweeted. And speaking of social networking, Gaga has launched a platform of her very own — aptly named Little Monsters — where fans can post photos and chat with other fellow monsters. MAC to Launch an Archie Comics Collection!

MAC has teamed up with Archie Comics to launch a collection based on Betty and Veronica, Riverdale’s most stylish ladies! The line includes a full range of color cosmetics, and we’re hoping to see a glamorous Veronica Lodge-inspired red lipstick among the products. But this isn’t the first time MAC has gone animated — the brand’s most recent cartoon-inspired lineups include Wonder Woman, Disney’s notorious villains, and Hello Kitty. The Archie’s Girls collection hits stores in spring of 2013, but MAC will be kicking off San Diego Comic Con with an event at their store in the Gaslamp district, where fans can meet Dan Parent, illustrator of the Archie series. Now that’s a reason to make a trip to the West Coast!

Exclusive: Nikki Reed Is Launching Her First Jewelry Collection!

Twilight fans rejoice—Nikki Reed is launching her very first jewelry collection! The actress partnered with Pascal Mouawad’s Glamhouse to create a capsule collection called Mattlin Era, available this fall. “Some of my earliest memories are of my mother sitting behind her sewing machine making clothes for my brother and I when we couldn’t afford to buy the cool stuff that was sold in stores,” Reed said in a press statement. “When I was old enough to help, we would go and buy fun colored beads to string on elastic and—voila!—I had my first ‘jewelry line.’” How sweet! The collection, which includes the earrings pictured, is said to have a “handmade vibe” with deeply-personal touches—she even named one piece after her husband, American Idol alum Paul McDonald.
