Between poolside chemicals and over-styling to combat the humidity, summer can wreak havoc on your locks. We’re always in awe of Taylor Swift’s glossy strands so we asked the singer what she uses on her hair to keep it looking soft and healthy. She told InStyle.com “I don’t use any hair products, except for shampoo.” Her must-have? Kerastase Bain Apres-Soleil Shampoo ($36; kerastase-usa.com,) a light cleanser that quickly detangles and softens hair. “This is my favorite,” she adds. I have read that L’Oreal Kerastase is a very popular shampoo with celebrities. It is, of course, a salon brand and manufactured by the cosmetics giant L’Oreal (a name that is synonymous with quality and excellence). Apparently Catherine Middleton is a very big fan of Kerastase shampoo to keep her rich chestnut locks healthy and shiny as a racehorse.

Unfortunately quality pays, so Kerastase shampoo comes with a rather large price tag. It is very expensive for a bottle of shampoo and to use it regularly would be a very indulgent luxury. I was wondering if anyone has tried this shampoo before and could tell me how well the shampoo lathers in the hair and what the fragrance of the product is like? Currently I am using Pantene Pro-V Classic Care shampoo to wash my hair, it works OK for me. But after I finish using up my bottles of Pantene, I may like to try a L’Oreal brand for a change.
