Daytime Emmy Awards 2012: Tune in Saturday Night!

The 39th Annual Daytime Emmy Awards are this weekend! Canceled shows All My Children and One Life to Live will make an appearance, as both scored nominations, as well as the forever-loved show General Hospital, which earned 23 total. Weekend Outfit Idea: The Little White Dress

The LWD (little white dress) is summer’s answer to the LBD, and celebrities love the look. “I’m a big fan of something feminine, but also strong, and I feel like this gets it,” Minka Kelly told InStyle.com of her Z Spoke by Zac Posen lace design at the Veuve Cliquot Polo Classic this month. And other stars agree, including Gabrielle Union, Nina Dobrev (in MaxMara), and Lauren Conrad (in Sparkle & Fade for Urban Outfitters top and a Paper Crown skirt). As for tips for how to wear this look with confidence, Kelly offered a few words of wisdom: “As long as you’re comfortable and as long as you’re confident, it will be sexy.” Keep that in mind when getting dressed this weekend!

Salma Hayek Remembers One Very Special Alexander McQueen Dress

In InStyle‘s new July issue, Salma Hayek opens up about her relationship with the late designer Alexander McQueen, who created the nude tulle look she wore to the 2011 Met Gala. “This was the dress Alexander McQueen was working on before he passed away,” Hayek said of the design, which featured an illusion neckline. “The team had to finish it on me. Try It Now: Bejeweled Nails Like Alexa Chung and Zooey Deschanel

Nails are getting the glitz treatment! Alexa Chung added red ladybug gemstone details to her nude manicure, while Zooey Deschanel went for a 3D rhinestone-covered bow. Want to try the look? Pick up some nail gems (look for plastic jewels with a flat back, as they’re easier to apply). Paint on your nail color, and once it is slightly sticky, press on the gem. Be sure to let your nails dry a little before applying the jewel, as lacquer fresh from the bottle will cause the accent to slide around. Finish by layering on a generous coat of clear polish to secure the sparkle and you’ve got yourself a statement nail, for sure.
