Miley and Liam’s Approach to Fashion: “It’s a Yes or No Thing”

Miley Cyrus and Liam Hemsworth share the same fashion philosophy—Miley’s always right. That’s what the Hunger Games star told InStyle.com at an event benefiting City Year just weeks before he popped the question. “It’s a ‘yes or no’ thing,” he explained of their laid-back approach. “[We’ll ask,] ‘Does this look good?’ We’ll say yes or no. If it looks good, we wear it. If it doesn’t, we don’t.” How often does he suggest another option? “I don’t have any real say in what she wears,” he laughed. “I just agree most of the time!” Spoken like a true husband in waiting!

What a star-studded ad campaign! After walking in Prada’s fall 2012 runway show, actors Gary Oldman, Jamie Bell, Garrett Hedlund, and Willem Dafoe are back working their best Blue Steel looks as the stars of the luxury label’s latest aristocrat-inspired ad campaign. While some of the boys swapped out their patterned runway looks (see below) for basic black, we still think they look quite dapper, don’t you?

Martha Stewart, Jim Carrey, Julia Louis-Dreyfus, Ed Helms, and Olivia Munn (in Rachel Zoe) got some in-person face time last night at the launch of the new digital platform Airtime in New York City. The new browser-based service developed by Sean Parker (of Napster fame) is a Facebook-connected, video-chatting platform that’s also topic-based, allowing users to select a topic they may have “liked” on Facebook and talk to others who share similar interests. “SOOO fun w/everyone at #AirTime today!” Munn tweeted after the event. Move over Eau de Parfum, Eau de Paper is having a moment with fragrances that smell like books and paper hitting the market. In the books department, designer Gerhard Steidl and perfumer Geza Schoen teamed up with Karl Lagerfeld to create Paper Passion ($115; steidl.com), a scent inspired by a freshly-printed book, complete with novel-inspired packaging. For those who would rather smell like Mrs. Moneybags than librarian chic, there is Liquid Money, which contains hints of newly-printed Benjamins and comes in an earthy version for men and a crisp citrus for women ($33 to $43; liquidmoney.com). Cynthia Rowley dressed Girls star Zosia Mamet for this week’s big CFDA Awards, and to make the evening even more special for Mamet, the designer gave her black and gold spring 2012 dress a custom high-to-low hemline! “The skirt was longer, and she has such great legs that we chopped it off in front,” Rowley told InStyle.com. “We’ve already seen her with no pants on in Girls so it’s OK.” Mamet loved Rowley’s alterations. “I’m a rather short individual, so I can’t wear anything that’s super short or to the ground,” Mamet said. Sounds like this silhouette was the perfect compromise!
