A new episode of Mad Men premiered last night, and we caught up with the show’s costume designer Janie Bryant to get the inside scoop on the fabulous retro fashions, including the teal dress she made for Betty Francis (January Jones) to wear during Sally’s homecoming. “I wanted her to be in teal for that scene, because blues are Betty’s character’s colors,” Bryant said of the wool shirtwaist design. “I love the femininity of it for this scene. It’s about Betty being motherly to Sally. The design of the dress is quite maternal.” Click through for Bryant’s take on more of last night’s looks, and catch the season finale of Mad Men Sunday, June 10th at 9/8c on AMC.
