The Council of Fashion Designers of America will anoint the actor with its prestigious Fashion Icon of the Year honor at its annual awards gala in New York, an achievement that has previously gone to Lady Gaga (2011), Iman (2010), and former girlfriend, Kate Moss (2005). Depp is the first man to receive the award, proving his care-free style is so different and remarkable that it breaks boundaries—and that’s definitely something worth celebrating. He has started to wear the shades lately because he is getting old and it is starting to show. Shades hide that, think of Ozzy Osborne, Howard Stern and various aging celebs who wear them. As for him getting a fashion icon award that is a joke. One thing Depp is not known for is his style, in fact lately he looks like a homeless bum. His attitude also seems to have changed substantially, he used to be an amenable and friendly guy. Now he looks as though he just wants to punch everyone, especially the paps who take his picture. Back in the day, when he chose Indie movies I loved him, Pirates of the Caribbean ruined Depp in more ways than one, his acting has gone downhill and so has his personality. He has become just another bigheaded Hollywood actor.
