Vampire no more! Robert Pattinson plays a billionaire asset manager in director David Cronenberg’s Cosmopolis, which premiered this week at the Cannes Film Festival. For the entire film, which takes plays over one day in New York City, the actor wears the same slim black Gucci suit and J12 Chromatic high tech ceramic and titanium watch by Chanel. “He is at the top of his game with an empire beneath him,” explains Denise Cronenberg, the costume designer and director’s sister. “I wasn’t even sure if he would wear a watch because these days a lot of people tell the time from their cell phones.” However, the star himself insisted on the timepiece. “Robert knew it was an important status symbol for his character,” says Cronenberg. “And the Chanel design was perfect with the reflective ceramic that has such a sleek futuristic look.” See more of Pattinson’s looks from the movie in the gallery.
