To try the look yourself, Francis recommends prepping hair with a volumizer (he loves Phyto Volume Actif, $35; sephora.com) to build up thickness, then adding a spritz of texturizer to keep the braid from slipping. Amp up the style and add lift by loosening the front twist with a tail comb before securing with hair pins. “This creates a slightly more dressy version to the headband braid because of the height,” Francis added.
