Miranda Lambert’s Kentucky Derby Inspiration: Catherine, Duchess of Cambridge

May 7, 2012 @ 11:25 am

Country star Miranda Lambert channeled her Kentucky Derby look this weekend from a world-famous hat expert: Catherine, Duchess of Cambridge! “She definitely looked to Kate Middleton for her Derby hat style,” her stylist Tiffany Gifford told InStyle.com of her Giovannio New York topper. “Miranda specifically asked for a fascinator this year because the big hat she wore last year was so heavy it hurt her neck! She loved the little cage on the front because it was just the right amount of retro.” The black sequin-covered topper complemented her printed Lela Rose strapless dress, while red Charlotte Olympia pumps and Colette jewels rounded out her accessories.

Marchesa to Launch Lower-Price Line, Tell All Your Friends

May 7, 2012 @ 10:40 am

Dreams do come true! Marchesa is coming out with a lower-price line, designers Georgina Chapman and Keren Craig announced today. “We have always had a vision for Marchesa to be a lifestyle brand,” Chapman told WWD. “We have been very specific for eveningwear so far. We always had this dream Marchesa could transcend into all different areas of lifestyle.” The collection will incorporate embroidery and prints—elements that made Marchesa a red carpet favorite (Diane Kruger is just one of many celebrity fans)—on clothes and accessories ranging from $150 to $750. The first pieces will land in stores by next summer. We can hardly wait!
