Miranda Lambert’s Kentucky Derby Inspiration: Catherine, Duchess of Cambridge
May 7, 2012 @ 11:25 amCountry star Miranda Lambert channeled her Kentucky Derby look this weekend from a world-famous hat expert: Catherine, Duchess of Cambridge! “She definitely looked to Kate Middleton for her Derby hat style,” her stylist Tiffany Gifford told InStyle.com of her Giovannio New York topper. “Miranda specifically asked for a fascinator this year because the big hat she wore last year was so heavy it hurt her neck! She loved the little cage on the front because it was just the right amount of retro.” The black sequin-covered topper complemented her printed Lela Rose strapless dress, while red Charlotte Olympia pumps and Colette jewels rounded out her accessories.

This look was SO close except for the ill-fitting strapless top. Hoping it was just needing tailoring because if Miranda’s stylist, Tiffany Gifford, OK’d her going braless, it almost ruined the whole look. The top is riding precariously low and she is too exposed in the bust.
