Katy Perry’s New Hair Color: “Purple Velvet”

Are there any hair colors Katy Perry can’t pull off? The singer, who dyed her strands blue in January, revealed a new amethyst ’do at the Coachella Music Festival on Friday. “Her new color is what I call purple velvet,” her colorist Rita Hazan told InStyle.com exclusively. “It’s dark and rich. It’s very punk rock. I love creating colors for her because she always knows how to rock it!” And this isn’t the first time Perry tried The Color Purple—she wore a soft lavender hue on our October cover. Pippa Middleton went to Paris this weekend! The jet-setting royal-in-law strolled through the City of Light in her go-to pieces, like a white lace H&M dress, top handle Modalu bag, and quilted leather Whistles jacket. She also packed a surprise look for a costume party on Saturday night, a magenta bow-covered canary tunic, which she accessorized with lace leggings, gold pumps, and a Lamb 1887 clutch. Uma Thurman is the latest star to work a platinum wig and call herself Marilyn Monroe! The actress, who is now pregnant with her third child, channeled the infamous vixen for the NBC hit show Smash. In the series, Thurman guest stars as Rebecca Duvall, who producers cast as the blonde icon to add a celebrity element to their musical-in-the-making about Monroe’s life, Bombshell. Tune in to watch Thurman’s portrayal  tonight at 10/9c on NBC.

Angelina Jolie’s Engagement Ring: A Big Photo for a Big Rock

A new photo of the huge diamond Brad Pitt gave bride-to-be Angelina Jolie is out, and it shows off the massive ring created by Beverly Hills jeweler Robert Procop. “Brad had a specific vision for this ring, which he realized over a yearlong collaboration with Robert,” the jeweler said in a statement. “He wanted every aspect of  it to be perfect, so Robert was able to locate a diamond of the finest quality and cut it to an exact custom size and shape to suite Angelina’s hand.” In other words, the rock isn’t a standard shape—like emerald or Asscher—it’s unique to the couple. Not to mention, the stunner is worth more than $1 million and weighs in at more than 10 carats, People reports. So, now that you see it close-up, what do you think?
