Scarlett Johansson Talks Catsuits at The Avengers

Apr 12, 2012 @ 5:20 pm

Scarlett Johansson channeled her sexy assassin character Black Widow in a tight Versace dress at last night’s Hollywood premiere of The Avengers, where she caught up with co-star Cobie Smulders (in Donna Karan). Of the sexy catsuit she wore in the movie, Johansson said the design had to be as functional as it was provocative. “There’s a lot of bending and sliding and rolling and all that stuff,” she said. “The suit’s got to be tough!” Catch The Avengers in theaters May 4th, and see more stars at last night’s hottest parties in the gallery now.

Exclusive Video: The Making of Evita’s New Broadway Costume

Apr 12, 2012 @ 3:00 pm

Evita is back on Broadway! The musical about the still-controversial former First Lady of Argentina—who Madonna once portrayed in the 1996 movie adaptationopened on the Great White Way last week. In this revival, there are two big moments the audience goes wild for: First, when Ricky Martin, who plays Che, the voice of the country’s working class, arrives on stage. And second, when Eva Peron, played by Elena Roger—the first Argentinean to assume the role on Broadway—steps out to sing the musical’s most powerful and memorable number, “Don’t Cry for Me Argentina.” (The truth is she never left them!) In the scene, Roger stands alone at a balcony, enveloped in a breathtaking white gown covered in more than 160,000 Swarovski crystals, an interpretation of a Christian Dior design the late political figure once wore. “It’s our goal that she will light up like a star in the night,” said Barry Doss, the associate costume designer of the production. And she does! Watch an exclusive first look at the making of this show-stopping design above. To see it in action, visit evitaonbroadway.com for tickets.

Plus, this isn’t the only famous revival! See stars portray Marilyn Monroe in the gallery.
