Where are the most social beauty shoppers in the country? We asked the brainiacs at FourSquare to tally the data from its 15 million users to find out which cities users are checking into most for beauty stores like Ulta, Sephora, and more. And, according to the free mobile app, the most beauty-obsessed city with over 300,000 check-ins is Fresno, CA, which is home to five beauty schools, as well as multiple beauty retailers. Lubbock, TX follows in the number two spot, with Tulsa, OK rounding out the top three. See the full list below and on the map above. Don’t see your hometown? Check into FourSquare on your next makeup run and make your beauty stop count!

1. Fresno, CA
2. Lubbock, TX
3. Tulsa, OK
4. Champaign, IL
5. Las Vegas, NV
6. Atlantic City, NJ
7. San Francisco, CA

UPDATE | A note on the methodology behind this list: The team at Foursquare has over 1.5 billion check-ins, and they analyzed a significant portion of these check-ins from the last year to zero in on the cities with over 300,000 check-ins that frequent Sephora, Ulta, and other cosmetics shops most often.

Using Foursquare has probably skewed the real numbers… San Francisco girls tend to be more natural beauties, and I think they just use apps like Foursquare more than the rest of the country because they’re quicker to tech trends.
