Daniel Radcliffe is not only an actor, he’s also an educator. The Harry Potter and The Woman in Black star serves on the youth advisory council for The Trevor Project, the nation’s only 24/7 crisis-intervention and suicide-prevention lifeline for gay, lesbian, bisexual, transgender, and questioning young people. “I’ve never been around so many well-informed, articulate, passionate young people,” Radcliffe told InStyle of his involvement, which helps spread the message of tolerance and understanding to prevent suicide through education. “They want to improve the world, and that’s very inspiring. I’m proud every day to be a part of that.” And you can get involved, too! Click “Like” on the Trevor Project’s Facebook page to get updates on events and watch related videos; follow @trevorproject on Twitter to ask questions and share stories; and visit thetrevorproject.org to volunteer and get involved. Plus, flip to page 146 of InStyle’s new April issue, on newsstands Friday, to read more of our interview with Radcliffe.

Love this. How about instead of “tolerance” – which implies that there’s something wrong with people who identify as LGBTQ, we work for acceptance?

I am on the bottom left. I’m a member of the Youth Advisory Council for The Trevor Project. Daniel (we called him D-Rad) is such an awesome guy! He does a lot for the LGBT community, in terms of promoting acceptance. He was a joy to be around.
