Madonna is launching a footwear line! The Material Girl teamed up with Aldo to produce a collection of 60 styles under her Truth or Dare label, with prices ranging from $89 to $349. “Her fingers are really on this brand,” Madonna’s stylist and Truth or Dare’s creative director, Arianne Phillips, told Footwear News.”The first thing I did was remind her of all the shoes she wore over the years, and we took the styles that we can’t live without.” Expect to see “Like a Virgin”-era lace designs and loads of studded leather (remember her Super Bowl outfits?) when Madonna’s Truth or Dare shoes hit Nordstrom, asos.com, and Macy’s this fall. Tell us: Would you wear Madonna-designed footwear?

Help Daniel Radcliffe Spread a Message of Tolerance

Daniel Radcliffe is not only an actor, he’s also an educator. The Harry Potter and The Woman in Black star serves on the youth advisory council for The Trevor Project, the nation’s only 24/7 crisis-intervention and suicide-prevention lifeline for gay, lesbian, bisexual, transgender, and questioning young people. “I’ve never been around so many well-informed, articulate, passionate young people,” Radcliffe told InStyle of his involvement, which helps spread the message of tolerance and understanding to prevent suicide through education. “They want to improve the world, and that’s very inspiring. I’m proud every day to be a part of that.” And you can get involved, too! Click “Like” on the Trevor Project’s Facebook page to get updates on events and watch related videos; follow @trevorproject on Twitter to ask questions and share stories; and visit thetrevorproject.org to volunteer and get involved. How to Get Elizabeth Banks’s Smooth Skin

Mar 13, 2012 @ 5:30 pm

Elizabeth Banks shined at the Los Angeles premiere of The Hunger Games, and not just because of her blood orange Atelier Versace dress. Thanks to makeup artist Fiona Stiles, the Effie Trinket actress got a dose of glowing skin. “I have always thought that Elizabeth looked like a young Jane Fonda, so I used Barbarella as a reference for the makeup,” Stiles told InStyle.com. To achieve the fantasy look, Stiles swept Benefit’s Sun Beam ($26 at benefitcosmetics.com) over the bridge of Banks’s nose after applying foundation, then used the NARS Cap VertBronzer ($38 at narscosmetics.com) to define her cheekbones. She set her complexion with loose powder, and finished with a generous sweep of peach blush. Now that’s a look we love!

Celebrities love Honor! Medical-student-turned-designer Giovanna Randall launched the label in 2009, and her ultra-feminine creations have been red carpet regulars ever since, most recently appearing on Shailene Woodley at last night’s Los Angeles premiere of The Hunger Games. “They’re strong, but feminine,” Woodley, who often wears the label, told InStyle.com of Randall’s designs at Honor’s fall 2012 fashion show. “I like the fact that her clothes are feminine with a masculine touch.” Randall agrees: I guess every woman wants to be the mix between being really ladylike and really tough,” the designer told us. I think about that a lot when I design.” Randall describes her ideal customer as a “strong woman who isn’t afraid to be noticed, but does’t need to be noticed all the time.” It is a fitting description of her celebrity fan base, which includes Taylor SwiftAhna O’Reilly, Kirsten Dunst, and more. See who else loves wearing Honor in the gallery, and shop the collection at shop.honornyc.com, or at the designer’s New York store (68 Gansevoort Street).

Celebrity Manicure Inspiration: Metallic Nails

Mar 13, 2012 @ 3:00 pm

Metallic manis are having a moment: Rihanna painted on gold tips in London, and Miranda Lambert wore silver polish to last night’s Los Angeles premiere of The Hunger Games. When trying the look, keep this in mind: Metallics show more nail flaws than their opaque counterparts, so buff nails before lacquering up. Since shimmery polishes tend to fade, add up to three layers and finish with a durable top coat to keep your color in place.
