It’s been only a few days since the passing of Whitney Houston, and pop culture staples are finding interesting ways to honor the legendary singer. Glee aired its tribute during its Valentine’s Day special last night, with Amber Riley singing Houston’s classic, “I Will Always Love You.” The song had been in the show’s lineup for a while—Riley’s character Mercedes Jones sang it to her summer love, Sam (Chord Overstreet)—so it’s just happenstance the episode aired after Houston’s tragic death. “We were celebrating her in life when we recorded it, and now that she has died, we’re celebrating her passing and her legacy,” Riley, who had just met Houston days before, told the E! team of singing the tune. Watch her performance above, and tell us: Did you enjoy Riley’s rendition?
