Feb 14, 2012 @ 10:55 amThe video for the first single from The Hunger Games soundtrack is out! Taylor Swift’s lonely lullaby “Safe + Sound” premiered on MTV last night, and it features the country cutie prowling empty meadows in a gauzy white peasant dress, with a vocal assist from newcomers The Civil Wars. The video is both eerie and ethereal—much like the series itself. Though fans hoping for a few fresh clips from the upcoming film might be disappointed, they’ll be happy to know that there is one important nod to the books: Katniss’s mockingjay pin.
