Around 11.5 million viewers, actually, TVbytheNumbers reports. “What I love about the show is that it’s about dreams, and how no dream is too big,” said McPhee, who got her first taste of fame as a contestant on Season 5 of American Idol. In Smash, which co-stars Debra Messing, Angelica Huston, and Megan Hilty, she plays a struggling actress vying for the lead role in a musical about Marilyn Monroe’s life.
