I watched the first 5 minutes of half time and it wa so bad I turned the channel. I have spoke with others today at work and they all agree it was one of the worst half time shows ever. Retire Madonna,retire.

She killed it! Madonna is STILL a force to be reckoned with. The show was well conceived, beautifully choreographed and face it- she laid down the law of who is the most amazing performer on the planet! LONG LIVE HER MADGESTY!!!!

Love it! It was a great show. It’s too bad that the sound was not good. I imagine they cut it down due to the noise. She looked great and she is still a tremendous entainer.

Wish that she had used another theme. The one that she did has been done many times before. Wish that she had written all new songs as some were repeats from prior performances. There were too many people involved in the show . . . that made her look so unsignificant amongst the all the people on the field. I was not impressed with Madonna Jumping around during her performance . . . she looked silly. I realize that she’s getting older, however, she’s still in excellent shape. Perhaps, she needs to borrow some new ideas from Lady G.’s staff and costume staff. Madonna needs some new ideas, material, and a dance coordinator/instructor that enhances who she is. Other than that, she still has a lot of energy and a lot of entertaining to do before she retires. I give her a “B-” for trying.

What a spectacle. A circus, and every time she makes a big splash she sets pop quality back a few, much like how she ruined pop music by taking away the attention to TALENT to just image in the mid 80′s when she started becoming huge.

Should have complained about it in 1993 – when Michael Jackson started this Super Bowl lip-syncing trend. in fact, people should be complaining about every Michael Jackson performance, after all, he never sand live even on his own shows. Neither does his sister, Janet Jackson.

I didn’t care for the Roman theme. I enjoyed the choir the most. And people on here, if you are adults and you like madonna, don’t post juvenile comments like “hope you like your pity party” and “you are haters” or “your jealous” etc. It makes you look like a moron! Everyone has different tastes so learn to live with that without hurling insults. You never know, it may help you in your personal relationships as well. MY opinion is she has a weak voice and is not a dancer. And those of you insulting her age, you ALSO will soon be old. Get over that too!

It was just awful. She LIP SYNCED the whole thing, she looked stiff and creaky while dancing with Nicky Minaj, M.I.A. and LMFAO (all of whom were about 25 years younger than her). I don’t know if M.I.A. gave the audience the finger because that’s what she thought of them, if she did it to upstage Madonna, or if she did it to make some political statement. Madonna appeared to be trying too hard when she performed the acrobatic tricks (if you can’t do the cartwheel so it looks effortless, leave it out).

Cee-Lo Green was great in his appearance as the world’s funkiest drum major, he made what I think was one of the fastest wardrobe changes to sing Like A Prayer in the choir robe. He has an amazing voice, is known for theatrical performances (anyone remember when he “flew” a piano at the music awards last year?), and as much as I love to see him perform, I was sad to see him reduced to being Madonna’s back up singer.

I say next year Cee-Lo Green should headline the halftime show, and Madonna should move into the retirement home because she’s DONE.

Madonna – TERRIBLE! Weak vocals, minimal dancing, overstaged stupid production that meant nothing. Madonna – I love you for being in your 50′s and looking great (though your injectibles are just too detectable… tone down the restalyne sweetie – it’s no longer natural on you.. you are starting to look “fishy”… just too much cougar-face!)… your body is still amazing and you are a natural dancer. You’ve never had a great voice but we’ve always forgiven you for that because you created a genre of dance music like none other. But girl, it’s part of your past. Don’t be like Cher… don’t try to fake your way through your senior years with weird stage productions and so many dancers that we don’t notice how old you’ve become. Don’t do the tour… bad idea! We love you… like you were… take a page from the Bonnie Raitt success story… be gracious, be proud, have talent and make it work for you… age appropriately.

I personally thought the half time show could have been a lot better. Madonna has lost her creativity. The song choices were okay, but didn’t really make you want to get up and join in. It’s 2012!!!! the shows are suppose to be getting better and better every year!!! I did not see that this year. I’m very disappointed.

Okay, looking through the comments and seeing the words “riveting” and “I was glued to the screen, awesome!” over and over tells me either you are paid to post fake reviews, or people had way too many cold ones during the game to even know what they were seeing. That show was a FLOP. Don’t get me wrong, I LOVE Madonna, always have. But the Madonna I know and love was not on stage that night. She moved soooooooooo slow and awkward. Almost fell and it seemed like she wasn’t in rythym with the music. It truly was awful and just . . . strange. The theme didn’t really fit anything or make any performance art cohesive sense. Roman/cheerleaders and church quoir? And the new song with the cheerleader type lyrics, didn’t Gwen Stephani do that quite a few years ago? Any song chanting “love (your own name)” is just plain cheesy and over the top pathetic. Madonna used to be a trendsetter, not a crumb snatcher. My sixteen year old and her friends all make fun of Madonna which is sad but she is trying too hard. At some point you have to gracefully let it go and let the new younger pop stars do their thing. Like I said, I’m not hating on Madonna, I really love her style, her personality, and her past music but I’m not going to lie and sit here and say, “best show ever!!!!” Because at best, it sucked.

Before I say anything about the half-time show this year, let me say that some of wanna be critics on this blog would not know talent if it hit them in the face, , that being said, I have seen every super bwl half-time special and this one by far and away was the best, forget madonna is 53, forget she cant get aound like she did before, the music was spot on, the sound for a stadium in a dome was good, and madonna didnt miss a note, the pagentry was excellent, as was the mix of youthful music/rap with old madonna, the dances couldve been less strenuos on her but she entertained us all, and thats what she is and does, she is an entertainer, best one yet hands down, no doubt about it, or maybe some of these critics would like to see niickelback again, who were porbably the worst ever, and I like the band. so thumbs up all the way for you Madonna
