Miss America 2012 took place in Las Vegas on Saturday, where Miss Wisconsin Laura Kaeppeler beat out the pageant’s other hopefuls in a black V-neck gown with embroidered lace details. Miss America 2011 Teresa Scanlan crowned a teary-eyed Kaeppeler, a Carthage College graduate who hopes to get a master’s in speech pathology.
