I have been writing a meoimr of my youth with a drug addicted father and an abusive, depressed mother for the past three years. In the back of my head I have continually thought to myself Maybe I shouldn’t try to get this published until they are dead. Mobid thought in some ways but mostly just a fear of how they will react to the truth being out there. My truth what I lived from a childs perspective it’s not pretty but it is quite real. Last week the back-up drive I had it saved on crashed completely and I may not be able to recover any of the work from the last three years. At that point I began to wonder if maybe it was a sign that I shouldn’t be putting it all out there. Then today I read you post here and it struck a strong cord with me. I have to start at the beginning again but maybe it is worth it regardless of the repercussions. You have inspired me to be a truth teller . Thank you for that.
