Catherine, Duchess of Cambridge went custom for Christmas! For her first holiday as a royal, the 29-year-old wore a dark purple coat designed by “an independent British dress maker” to attend services at St. Mary Magdalene Church, WWD reports. She accessorized her look with a trilby by Jane Corbett, matching clutch, black gloves, black pumps, and a new pair of drop green amethysts earrings by Kiki McDonough. See more photos of the outfit in the gallery now, and let us know what you think of her look in the comments!

I can’t say anything about her outfit, all any of us can see here is her hat and a bit of her coat. I’ll look for more. I’m sure she looked lovely, she would look great in a burlap bag.

The hat is fabulous. I think I would have liked the outfit better if the gloves and hat matched–either a black hat and black gloves or the same hat and matching gloves–would’ve stood out a bit more. The earrings would have stood out more too. Still, I always love Kate’s choices. http://www.fabfashionbuys.com
