Project Accessory: Episode 6 Recap and Ariel Foxman’s Tweet Roundup!
Dec 9, 2011 @ 1:07 pmWe’re nearing the finale of Project Accessory! Last night the six remaining contestants were tasked with creating holiday-ready clutches. Brian was the challenge winner—guest judge Alexa Chung, who joined InStyle’s own Ariel Foxman, even claimed she “was horny” for his unicorn-inspired resin bag! As always, Foxman tweeted his thoughts throughout the show and we’ve rounded up our favorites below:
- 1. I am allergic to dust. I would be going crazy. #projectaccessory
- 2. Mechanics of a Clutch would be a great band name. #projectaccessory
- 3. It didn’t open. Problem. #projectaccessory
- 4. Chandelierings. Nice. #projectaccessory
- 5. My weak spot is also metal. Have to be honest.
#projectaccessory - 6. “Elk-ish”. Very holiday.

In the end, though the judges conceded he’d done a good job editing his work, Adrian was sent home. He graciously conceded that Brian’s “resin technique is phenomenal.” Catch another new episode next Thursday at 10/9c on Lifetime, and stay in the know with @arielfoxman on Twitter.
Take a look back at the original contestants!

So, the “horny clutch” is $300 and the braided necklace thingie is $125? Seriously, Kenneth Cole? The “necklace” looks like it requires about $2.00 in materials–very cheap and thrown-together in appearance, a little like the “necklace” that Nicolina Royale made in the very first episode. Perhaps it is better in person and its appearance doesn’t translate well on television. I would spend $300 on a bag I use everyday, but not on something like this, which I might use only once; also, it looks like it would be uncomfortable to carry. I would blow a lot on a special occasion bag if I felt that it would not look dated in a few years. I think this one will look dated. Frankly, I find Brian’s stuff is incredibly ugly. I can’t even believe he is still on the program. I would never buy any of his stuff. Why is it, on fashion competitions, that the judges call it “taking a risk” when something is butt ugly and “playing it safe” when something is tasteful?
