Designer Christmas Trees Now on Display!
Nov 30, 2011 @ 10:00 amBetsey Johnson and Lanvin’s Alber Elbaz are showing their holiday spirit by giving Christmas trees designer makeovers! Johnson teamed with The Plaza in New York City to design the hotel’s first official tree, a candy pink-covered timber inspired by the famed Eloise from Kay Thompson’s 1955 children’s book. On the other side of the pond, Alber Elbaz of Lanvin designed a tree for London hotel Claridge’s, which features marionettes dressed in Lanvin-designed hotel uniforms. Both will be up through January 9th. Season’s greetings!

Finally, someone has wrttien a book to explain the wildly ridiculous and addictive phenomenon of fashion. This book takes an insider’s look at what attracts consumers to fashion and some of the bad things it does to us. I’m not exactly Carrie Bradshaw wearing Jimmy Choos and miniskirts every day, but after reading this book, I realized that I could be considered a fashion victim, too. The strongest part of the book has to be the author’s writing style. It’s an easy read but not at all fluffy like how other fashion related books can be. I definitely recommend it.
