Alexander McQueen creative director Sarah Burton took home the top prize at tonight’s British Fashion Awards in London—Designer of the Year! What an end to the McQueen protégé’s whirlwind year, which included designing Kate Middleton’s wedding gown, opening a sell-out exhibition about her mentor at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York City, and seeing her work displayed at Buckingham Palace. Other winners at the ceremony included Stella McCartney for the Red Carpet Award, Victoria Beckham for Designer Brand of the Year and Alexa Chung for the public-voted British Style Award. Congratulations to all!

While Jessica Simpson confessed that her pregnancy glow was the result of too much sweating, she also attributes her radiant complexion to her new line of skincare products, BeautyMint. “I wouldn’t attach my name to it if I didn’t believe in it,” she told InStyle.com of her new project, a website that recommends a $40 set of four skincare products based on a sign-up questionnaire. 60 Minutes profiled Angelina Jolie on Sunday! Besides discussing her directorial debut for In the Land of Blood and Honey, the show probed into her definition of beauty. “I always felt not traditionally beautiful,” she admits. “I have big features. But, as I’ve gotten older, I look like my mom, and I love my mom. You start to put your lineage in line of the different things that you are….You come to love the combination of whatever it is you are.” Jolie is passing this message along to her own girls telling them: “I wake up and I want to be a smarter person. That’s my focus. That’s what I’m encouraging my girls—that if they can make their inside and who they are really, really stunning then everything falls together.” But there’s one person whose opinion counts the most, “As long as Brad thinks I’m beautiful,” she laughs. “I don’t think about beauty.” Watch the interview clip above.

Americans got some major retail therapy this weekend! Shoppers flocked to stores earlier and spent more than ever before, as retailers pulled in a record-breaking $52.4 billion in sales, BusinessWeek reports. Many shops opened on Thanksgiving Day this year drawing crowds of 28.7 million on Turkey Day alone, and the average shopper spent $398.62 over the holiday weekend. So, what did everyone buy?
